Hi, I’m Shaina, a Philly-based poet.

My poetry explores home, loss, and what it means to live meaningfully amid the knowledge of our death. My debut poetry chapbook, in the homes that house my history, is available through Moonstone Press. You’re also welcome to browse some of my published works, and please subscribe for updates.

“In the aftermath of a father’s death, “grief, I turn it plum-sized / & swallow.” These wrenching evocations—precisely observed, lovingly rendered—share that grief, reaching out to us to recognize, too, how “God makes ghosts of everyone I love,” and shepherding us, too, from numbness back towards renewed life.” —Nathalie Anderson, Moonstone Press Contest judge
